Sekuya and Max Motorsport proudly announce the launch of their first program, Indonesia Legend, a collaboration that brings together the gaming and racing industries. The launch of the racing jacket was made in partnership with the Ministry of Creative Economy (Kemenekraf), as a strategic initiative to introduce Indonesia’s local talent to the global stage. Indonesia Legend was first introduced in December 2024, alongside the launch of the new Kemenekraf logo in Mandalika.
Indonesia Legend is a movement that merges two industries, gaming and racing with the goal of discovering new Indonesian racing talent by bridging the world of gaming with real-world racing (gamer-to-racer). This initiative opens up a path for gamers to potentially transition into real-life racers.
“Indonesia Legend, in collaboration with Kemenekraf, aims to create a platform to introduce more esports gamers in Indonesia to the world of real-world racing. Imagine a future where the next racing stars could come from gamers practicing on simulators in the comfort of their own rooms. We’re starting with the simplest step: the Indonesia Legends racing jacket,” said Joshua Budiman, CEO of Sekuya.
Irene Umar, Vice Minister of Creative Economy of Indonesia, shared,
“This collaboration is a strategic step to connect the creative industries with motorsports, opening up new opportunities for Indonesia’s young talent. We are optimistic that Indonesia Legend will drive innovation and further strengthen Indonesia’s position on the global stage.”
Denda Hendro K. Jati, Creative Director of Radical Motorsport Indonesia, added,
“With Indonesia Legend, we are confident that not only will the automotive industry experience rapid growth in Indonesia, but gamers will also find a new bridge connecting the world of gaming with real-life motorsports. Indonesia Legend will create a paradigm shift, showing that anyone can become a racer, including those who start as gamers.”
In the first campaign of Indonesia Legend, the racing jacket, which can be worn daily, has garnered support from over 30 partners. These include local companies such as MGPA, Radical Motorsport Indonesia, EVOS Esports, Revival TV, Gamecomm Indonesia, BRZ Racing, GT-Sim, Tokocrypto, Sekuya Speed Society, Liqui Moly Indonesia, and Tania Motorsport, as well as global companies from Singapore, Germany, the United States, Dubai, Japan, and Turkey, including W3GG, Singularity Finance, OIG, New Tribe Capital, Circuit Orange, Gains Associates, BTRDAO, Andrometa, Gameness, and TROE Show.
After the release of the Indonesia Legends racing jacket, Sekuya and Max Motorsport, in collaboration with Kemenekraf, are preparing the next steps with initiatives such as simulator platforms for gamers and an academy. The winners from the academy will have the opportunity to train directly at Mandalika alongside the fastest racer in Mandalika, Senna Iriawan.
